In bad times the bad get worse and scammers are preying on motorists interested in modifying their vehicles to gas by selling them fake certificates for engine change at 1000 baht a pop to avoid lengthy trips to find a certified engineer. The scam is especially popular in Ban Nok or 'the hicks'. Many car owners in these rural areas have succumbed to the trick, but they should also be aware that LNG and CNG are subsidized by the government as was diesel, but once the subsidy is pulled by the government the price will rise according to market supply and demand, thereby wiping out any savings for the transformation.
But at least the air will be cleaner.
