The End Of Truth

The GOP have nurtured a strong disdain of science in their followers as recently evinced by the declaration by Congressman Paul Broun that, "God's word is true. I've come to understand that. All that stuff I was taught about evolution and embryology and the big bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of Hell. It's lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior. You see, there are a lot of scientific data that I've found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young Earth. I don't believe that the earth's but about 9,000 years old. I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That's what the Bible says." The Georgian representative is a licensed MD and a leading member of the House Science Committee with his GOP cohort Rep. Todd Akin, who revealed his conviction of faith in the 'fact' that "women don't get pregnant from "legitimate rape". While Paul Broun might be an outstanding example of the myth of evolution, I'm continually amazed at their denial of facts, reason, and knowledge in favor of their pseudo-cult reference book, the Bible, plus he might have been talking about THE BIG BANG THEORY the TV show. It's in its sixth season. Evolution was a 2001 TV series from PBS. It's no longer on the air. I couldn't find any show named Embryology, but it might have died from funding.
