Gay Wedding Bells

The third rail of gay union or marriage has presented American politicians a dangerous platform for the 2012 election. Mainstream media have supported or criticized President Obama's backing of Joe Biden's statement that the VP was alright with gay marriage. Yahoo.com reported that Newsweek will feature Obama's conversion to gay union with a cover story entitled THE FIRST GAY PRESIDENT. The LA Times published Senator Rand Paul's accusation, “Call me cynical, but I wasn’t sure his views on marriage could get any gayer.” The hardcore libertarian further quipped to an Iowa gathering, "He said the biblical golden rule caused him to be for gay marriage. And I'm like what version of the Bible is he reading?...I don't know what version he's getting it from. Now that doesn't mean we need to be harsh and mean and hate people...But that doesn't mean that we have to go ahead and give up our traditions. We've got 6,000 years of tradition." The GOP candidate for the White House declared to a commencement gathering at Liberty University, a Christian college in Lynchburg, Virginia, "Marriage is a relationship between one man and one woman." without mentioning the polygamous history of his Mormon faith. The crowd gave him a standing O for his stance of suppressing the rights of gay Americans. While I fully support the right of gays to get married, my logic questions their desire to enter into the holy sacrament of matrimony, since over the failure rate of first marriages in the USA is over 50% and this percentage increases with the absence of children. If over half fail, then over 49% succeed, so what the fuck, go for it and let the Wedding Bells ring aloud.
