Dominoes With A Chicken

“How, unless you drink as I do, could you hope to understand the beauty of an old Indian woman playing dominoes with a chicken?” ― Malcolm Lowry, Under the Volcano

Golden Smile

Fabo got fucked up in his motorsai accident. He's lucky to be alive. A dentist replaced his lost smile. His teeth are all gold. In the afternoon he faces the west and his smile lights the soi of the Welcom Inn, where the the girls call him 'yim thong' or Gold Smile. They know their business. I wish I was there to know what they know. it makes an old man feel young.

A Green Day Grows In Brooklyn

I went to see GREEN DAY at the Barclay Center. Billy was this small to those in the 211 section. Everyone loved them. AP and I picked out the lifted riffs; Free, Steve Miller, and the Clash. We said nothing to no one. Billy asked me to wave my arms. I obeyed him. I did not buy beer there. Billy did not ask, so I did not have to obey. THIS IS SPINAL TAP ruined big concert for me.

Bring Back Ralph

Tomorrow night there will be an Informational Meeting about the community's concerns in regards to Ralph and the store's closing at the corner of Lafayette and South Portland Avenue. Monday, April 8, 2013 @ 7:30 pm 61 South Portland Avenue For over 40 years Ralph’s store has been a positive unifying presence in the center of the Fort Greene community. Many neighbors have expressed concern about the store's forced closing by the City. We would like to do what we can so that Ralph and his family can open the store again, upgrade like he wants to, and continue to be the hub of Fort Greene. If you are interested, come to the meeting on Monday April 8 or e-mail saveralphnstore@gmail.com

The Ugliest Man In Paris

Alain Pacadis led the gay scene in Paris along with friends Marie France, Paquita Paquin, Claude Aurenson, and the owners of le Sept and Palace. He wrote for various newspapers and magazines in the French capitol. I met him at the Bains-Douches, where I worked as the physionomiste. Friends joked that the unwashed journalist was the ugliest man on Earth, although Serge Gainsbourg argued that point, saying to a beautiful woman, "Yes, I am ugly and you are young and beautiful, but one day you be old and I will still be ugly."

The soiled star of punk and new wave explored the underground like a mole with smeared glasses shielding his pinned pupils. Pacadis was accepted everywhere in the nightlife, although his favorite haunt was Le Privilege under La Palace on rue Montmatre. He ran with young boys. I was always surprised that they sought his favor. finally he ended up with a lovely transvestite. Their affair was tempestous and dangerous.

One morning he was found dead in his apartment.

His lover was accused of murder.

He was cremated at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery.

It was the place to be.

And Pacadis always knew those places.

His novel UN BONNE HOMME CHIC sells well to this day.
