Last year a Florida woman who fired warning shots against her allegedly abusive husband has been sentenced to 20 years in prison according to CBS News.
The judge ignored her request for a Stand Your Ground defense, citing that 5'2" Ms. Marissa Alexander had left the house to get her pistol and then returned to confront 275 pound husband. She put a bullet into the ceiling, claiming it to be a warning shot, although the prosecutor alleged that the woman was aiming at her husband's head.
The twenty-year sentence came after a rejection of a three-year prison plea deal.
Ms. Alexander said that he hadn't done anything wrong.
The judge thought otherwise.
She should have hit her target, then there wouldn't have been a witness.
Dead men don't tell tales.
