Burning California

Wild fires scorched thousands of acres in the coastal mountains of Southern California. Firefighters finally quelled the major blazes and residents were allowed back to their houses, although scores of homeowners returned to charred ruins.

Governor Jerry Brown warned state residents that this hot season might be the worst ever experienced in the Golden State. The long drought will continue through the summer and no rains are expected until October. Water reservoirs are historically low and the underbrush on the hillsides is as dry as six-month old Christmas tree.

The governor stated of ABC's THIS WEEK that the tinder-dry condition are a result of global warming and added, “And in the years to come, we’re going to have to make very expensive investments and adjust. People are going to have to be careful of how they live, how they build their homes and what kind of vegetation is allowed to grow around them.”

Global warming denialists rejected the Democratic governor's supposition and Florida's Senator Ted Cruz responded by saying that scientific evidence does not support the claims of global warming. After the cold winter the senator joked, “It’s cold. Al Gore told me this wouldn’t happen.”

Very Droll, but Miami Beach residents of Alton Road didn't find the humor in Ted Cruz's comment, having experienced a series of winter floods attributed to rising tides.

The sea incursion coupled with the sinking of Florida due to its obese population to threaten the Sunshine State with a catastrophic loss of land.

Ted Cruz know that there is global warming. He graduated cum laude from Princeton and magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. He is no dummy, but has to appeal to the radical non-thinkers of his party, who see God's Hand in every act of nature.

To them global warming is not man-made, but the perception of global warming is man-made.

They have such a clever way of saying something stupid with conviction.

Obviously none of them saw WATERWORLD.

Water water everywhere and not a sight of dry land.
