Totterham Court Cinema. In November 1979 I saw Quadrophenia and Scum. A double billing. Quadrophina first. After the showing the Mods left the theater and the seats were occuped by Teddies on the way to becoming skins. The two groups still hated each other. Divide sand and conquer by the upper classes. My grilfriend and I sat through both screenings. She a goddess in white leather. Me in black leather. We belong to neither mods or skins. Punks. Neither tribe said anything. Lisa was from Buffalo. Both films born from Stanley Kubrick's CLOCKWORK ORANGE. Chaos. A brilliant cinematic coupling.
