Couvre-Feu

The curfew comes for the old French phrase 'couvre-feu' meaning 'cover fire'. William The Conqueror adopted the Middle Ages 'curfeu' to call on the people to extinguish the household fires to prevent conflagrations. 8PM was the normal hour for the curfeu. Same as declared by Mayor DeBlasio and Governor Cuomo this afternoon, but these corrupt politicians serving the racist classes are simply enacting an old racist policy against blacks such as juvenile urban policing violating young people 1st, 4th, 5th or 14th Amendment rights, then the suburban malls and corporate stores instituted bans on urban youths after a certain hour harkening back to racist 'after dark' curfews of the South, North, West, and East.

AKA Sundown towns.

The evil that lurks in men's hearts does not die in the grace.

Freed From Freedom

Eighteen countries have issued advisories to Thailand warning against non-essential travel. The USA is one of them. My co-worker has a trip scheduled for later this month. Laara called this morning to ask my opinion on the situation. "There is a curfew in effect. 10pm to 7am. No political gatherings over five people. Censorship of TV and the newspapers. No elections for a year. Arrests for any protests. The Full Moon parties will be cancelled in the beach resorts." "That sounds horrible." She had been planning a fun holiday in Bangkok and Krabi with her mother. "Other countries like England have said that travel to Thailand is okay, but to avoid any protest sites or unrest." Thailand was suffering through another military coup, as the old elite refused to reform the nation's power structure. "So should I go?" Laara sounded nervous. "At the moment the situation is quiet and everyone knows better than to anger the army." In 2010 the generals had ordered the troops to disperse the red-shirt demonstrators by force. An unknown number of people were killed and hundreds were wounded during the assault in Central Bangkok. I told Laara, "The army has a special soldier who can kill anyone they want without any backlash from the courts. This khaat dta gaawn luaat yen dressed in a spiffy uniform with a gleaming helmet. If he comes into the room, no one moves. Not even his victim, whose crime could be insulting a rich person. One shot and the victim is dead. The soldier leaves the room and everyone mourns the dead person." I had seen a photo of such a soldier in the New York Times. He was confronting protestors. They were not scared on him in daylight, but I suspect this military assassin was taking numbers. "That sounds horrible." Laara came from Lithuania. "It is terrible and it's what happens in America to people every day, but the news only reports 'the truth'." The police are immune from prosecution for murder and the US military killed collateral citizens without a conscience, but that's all to be expected from nations freed from freedom.

Thai Curfew

Since November 2013 armed skirmishes between Thailand's two opposing political camps have resulted in at least twenty-eight deaths and hundreds of wounded Thais. Once Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was forced from office by a court order the army chief, Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, had the army stepped into the power vacuum to prevent anarchy. Radios and TV were suppressed for 'public good' and this morning the diehard royalist announced a nationwide curfew from 10 PM to 5 AM. He almost demanded for the ex-prime minister and eighteen other government officials to report to the ruling military commission.

Protesting red shirts and yellow shirts have been forced from their protest zones with the army offering buses to take each camps' supporters back to their homes around Thailand.

I have lived through several Thai curfews.

The last had been in 2010 during which the army killed an undisclosed number of red shirts.

Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha has sworn to keep violence to a minimum until a period of calm will allow elections.

The NPOMC issued a new order to exempt those who will travel abroad or return from abroad and workers whose operations need to be carried out in shifts, such factories, to be exempted from curfew.

Those who need to work during the curfew hours can seek permission from military officers in their areas.

A friend reported that Bangkok all overpass closed street level road open but very heavy traffic with all petrol stations closing before the pumpkin hour.

Soon there will be no late shifts at factories. No overtime. Restaurants will close early.

There will be nothing but the dead of night.

Goodbye Democracy.

It never works when neither side obeys the decision of the people.

Mostly since the election is always bought by Khon Yai or the Rich.
