Ditch Plains Late friday night
I waddled into the water. Lasted a minute.
Water temp 43. Five Februarys ago my friend Quinton and I plunged off Peakes Island Maine. Water temp 39. Last fifteen seconds. Quinton longer. His dog Penny stood on his pebbles. Her tail shaking in disbelief. Will I try today. Maybe. The key to triumph is in the first syllable. That came from an old Salada tea bag. It's early morning. After a cup of tea I'll bike down with a towel.
