In December of 2025 I realized that I hadn't stepped on the continental United States in over a year. A world traveler. Health, finances, and a job in Montauk have stranded me on Manhattan and Long Island, basically Clinton Hill and Montauk, where I work as a jewelry salesmen at Winick Jewelry at 771 Montauk Highway. Occasionally I ride the East River and Staten Island ferries to take a break from standing on soli ground. A pleasure albeit short voyages. Thirty minutes each way. Not really going anywhere, but for a marooned traveler travel was never about the destination. At least not until the arriving where at your destination wherever that was, although certainly not the St. George terminal. I know it well.
