Spill Baby Spill

"Drill Drill Drill." was the GOP mantra from Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential campaign. America was hungry for gas. The price at the pump that summer was almost $4. THe Hummer died within two years. Even Chinese money couldn't save the symbol of American over-spending, however the US government realized the importance of self-sufficiency in oil production and VP Dick Cheney convinced the regulators to allow bareback drilling and the short-cuts bit BP in the ass in the Gulf of Meixco when a deep sea platform blew up in the last minute of capping a well head with a froth of nitrogen concrete.

A methane bubble burst into flames, killing more than 20 workers. The pipeline slither through the water spewing oil. BP's initial optimism was darkened by the repeated failures to capture the pipe. Further attempts to cap the spill have been unsuccessful and the oil slick has reached the Gulf Coast. Right-wing pundits have called this environmental disaster 'Obama's Katrina' alluding the last president's and Fema's handling of the New Orleans disaster.

The blame as of yet has not stuck to the White House.

BP was already under federal scrutiny for various mishaps in Alaska.

Left-wing pundits are quick to fault the previous administration's lax policy of supervision. Pay-offs in go-go bars were a perk of appointment to the EPA. None of this misbehavior hit the newspapers. To criticize the oil companies was considered unpatriotic and Americans love big cars. No one is driving slow to protect Mother Earth. The beaches of Florida are the next target for the 'Blob'; the Keys and Miami, probably the Bahamas are in line for a messy summer.

Better oil balls than jellyfish.

Those motherfuckers hurt like hell.

"Drill, baby, drill."
