See Them Next Year - Horseshoe Crabs - 2025

Last weekend I spotted the last horsecrab carapace on Ditch Plains beach. Earlier in the month I spoke with Mike the Marine officer who said that their breeding numbers had been decreasing year by year. I was lucky to see females without their numerous beaus under the Broad Channel Bridge on Howard Beach. A glorious evening wading through the algaed waters of the Jamaica Bay following a creature destined to survive mankind's upcoming collective self-extinction. I'm spending time every weekend working at jewelry store in Montauk at the end of NY 27. I sleep in a tent under the stars listening to the waves and waking to birdsong. Awaiting the horseshoe crabs of 2026.

Farewell the Spawn

July 11
The horseshoe crabs are gone
From the Rockaways
Jamaica Bay and points
East and south
The annual spawning has come
With the late Spring full moons
To the East Coast of America, the Yucatan, and South East Asia
Hard shelled females lay hundres of thousans of eggs
Smaller males fertilize the future of the species
A repeat of 400 million other pawnings
Give or take several millions
Through eternity
And now gone All the horseshoe crabs
To the depths of the deep ocean
Unknown forever
To humans
Not a mystery
A secret
From man
For eternity

The Timeliness of Horseshoe Crabs - All the Best Earth day

Fotos from beneath the Broad Channel Bridge June 2025

Now awaiting on Clinton Hill for the Summer homecoming of the Horeseshoe Crabs.

Rene Descartes author of The Age of Reason had argued that animals had no intelligence, because they had no sense of time. The rationalist lablled them 'automata'. or mndless creatures. To argue that accusation horseshoes crabs return to the same beach to lay eggs year after year according to the cosmic time of the moon and have for over 400 million years well before Man needed a clock to know the time.

Eternity now

Horseshoe crabs only exist on the East Coast of America and Southeast Asia. A species 440 millions old according to man's calculations. I know nothing thankfully. Happy Earth Day econsume.

Poem Speak Too

Rene Descartes denied the idea that animals have any intelligence categorizing them as automata since none have any concept of time, yet the horseshoe crab returned to the same beach every year at the same full moon faithful to the ticking of the clock of the cosmos__

These words from you
They are not from the poem
No matter, human
This poem is alive
This poem once spoken
Lives
On the wind
And this poem will live
As long as humans who hear it live
Unless you read this poem to a horseshoe crab
Or Horseshoe crabs
Their poetry will outlive us all__

Greed # 1 - The Seven Deadly Sins.

AI Google lists Greed # 2 in the list of the Seven Deadly Sins. Pride is number one. The AI-generated list as follows:

Pride: Excessive belief in one's own importance.
Greed (Avarice): Inordinate desire for material wealth/gain.
Lust: Intense longing, often sexual.
Envy: Desire for others' traits, status, or possessions.
Gluttony: Overindulgence and overconsumption (food/drink).
Wrath: Uncontrolled anger, rage, or hatred.
Sloth: Laziness, spiritual apathy, or despair.

Today the Guardian's lead story pertained to a Jeff Merkley, a USA senior Democratic senator from Oregon calling for an investigation into potential insider trading by fossil-fuel billionaires close to the Trump administration, after a Guardian investigation raised questions about an unusual share buying spree. Both men bought $12 million of Venture Global, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) company headquartered in Virginia, bought more than a million shares worth almost $12m each, just days after meeting with senior Trump officials in March.

Michael Sabel #91 with $14 billion on Forbes' 2025 Forbes 400 list along with Robert Pender, net wealth $12 million, are members of the wealth cabal ruling the economics of every facet of this world. A billionaire And of course the words of Sydney Carton ascending the stairs to sacrifice himself to satisfy the thirst of La Veuve or The Widow or guillotine to save the life of his beloved's lover a millionaire. Sabel's purchase was a hundredth of his fortune, while Pender pushed all his chips into the pot, since approval by the president seemed a lock. Not true. Venture Global's shares sank from $12 in March to its present $6. A loss of $6 million for both investors in their own company. A failure to recognize how pride ie we are the smartest people in the room, was trumped by greed. Even worse they have been spotlighted by an angry Democratic senator also aware of the $1 billion contributions from the fossil fuel industry dedicated to ending all life on this planet.

Not to worry.

We have been extincted before, but not as many times as the horseshoe crabs have survived mass glad bal destruction.

They will live through anything and their only wealth are the eggs spawned each summer. They are a gift to eternity.

Horseshoe Crabs And Us 2050

I have visions
Not dreams
But visions
Of the Future
2050
Sitting on the B38 bus
Traveling down Myrtle Avenue__
Summertime
No cars
None
More trees
More flowers
Vegetable gardens too.
Everyone walking
Riding bikes
Less people than 2024
A lot less
The rich escaped to the Moon
To Mars
We hear nothing from them
Nothing
Good riddance___
After 2024
The tipping point
Things went bad
Very bad
And fast
Wars, fires, famines, floods
No place to run
No place to hide
Many prayed
Many more screamed
Bad to Worst
Wrath of God worst
Worst for the good
Worst for the bad
Thoughts and prayers
No help___
Then one day___
Worst went to bad
And then not to good
But not bad___
Not everyone survived
Not everything survived,
But the horseshoe crabs
They multiplied by the billions
And the fed the world
As horseshoe crabs had other speices
Through other extinctions___
Now 2050
Me
98 years old
With my wives
My children
My grandchildren
My great grandchildren
And friends____
A miracle But like horseshoe crabs
My blood don't die easy____
Deconsume, children, deconsume
It's the only solution__
