X Marks The Spot - Twitter Name Change

Last week Elon Musk completed his transformation of Twitter by changing the name of the once-dominant social media app to simply X, although a highly designed X. X.com had been a domain for a financial transfer app, which the genius had sold, then in 2017 re-purchased from Meta, which owns his rival Facebook.

The NY Times reported “X” is a term for what Mr. Musk has described as an “everything app” that could combine social media, instant messaging and payment services, akin to the popular Chinese app WeChat.

July 24 I thought this guy was supposed to be some kind of genius!

I am flabbergasted….

1. First he pays probably 3x the value of what Twitter was worth. 2. He removes at least 1/2 of company talent creating real holes on service and support. 3. He scares advertisers by allowing the return of throlls and villains (He himself becomes a political throll!) 4. Limits the number of messages heavy users can send per day. 5. And finally, he KILLS THE BRAND by changing the logo

One should question why Forbes keeps putting him at the top of his list!

A young friend of mine called Musk a genius. I beg to differ. His Space X company has been launching hundreds of satellites into low orbit threatening to block out the stars so the masses will be further empowered to decommunicate from other humans.

I hope the LA punk band sues him for copyright infringement.

At least he had the smarts to not name Twitter XXX.

The Siege Of 45

The Trump White House has portrayed the first two month's of 45's presidency as a complete success. 220,000 jobs have been added, $100 billion have been shaved from the national debt, and Trump has claimed progress in the war against the Islamic fundamentalists, ISIS.

The President has replaced his old phone to broaden the reach of his executive missive.

The Mainstream Media has earned his wrath.

"Just heard Fake News CNN is doing polls again despite the fact that their election polls were a WAY OFF disaster. Much higher ratings at Fox."

His accusations of leaks are aimed at the other branches of the government.

"The real story that Congress, the FBI and all others should be looking into is the leaking of Classified information. Must find leaker now!"

His grasp of diplomacy flipflops with his attention span.

"Despite what you have heard from the FAKE NEWS, I had a GREAT meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Nevertheless, Germany owes vast sums of money to NATO & the United States must be paid more for the powerful, and very expensive, defense it provides to Germany!"

And let's not forget his No Health Care Plan.

"Great progress on healthcare. Improvements being made - Republicans coming together!"

Needless to say Trump triumphs over all.

American Sniper

AMERICAN SNIPER has fast become a national hit. The 'hero' kills and kills and kills only the bad guys. Every one of his targets deserved a tap on the head or a shot through the heart. Audience cheer the death of Iraqi insurgents without remembering that the USA's occupation of Iraq was a complete failure and the military has been severely damaged by the endless war thousands of miles from our shores.

Hollywood has a funny way of shifting our perception of reality.

Recently I bought a copy of AMERICAN SNIPER from the Chinese bootlegger on the Upper East Side.

"Very good movie."

I like watching films on my MacBook and that evening fast forwarded through the film, editing out his childhood in Texas, SEAL training camp, and his relationship with this family and wife. All that remained was thirty minutes of Chris Kyle's killing of Iraqis defending their land from foreign invaders.

He was called 'The Legend' by the other soldiers.

He made them feel safe.

One man same as Soviet sniper Vasily Zaitsev from ENEMY AT OUR GATES, but no one was safe from death in Stalingrad or Bagdhad.

Snipers are killers and this week the director Michael Moore twittered this, "My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse."

AMERICAN SNIPER fans railed against this accusation, but I got to agree.

No one lights three cigarettes with a match.

In World War I a sniper had the time to aim at the third man on the line.

Snipers are saints on your side and devils on the other side of the battle line and death doesn't respect any rules in war, for as Charles De Leusse so aptly said, “The sniper of heart misses only flowers. (Le sniper du cœur - Ne rate que les fleurs)”
