Chai Yo

Sunday's funeral procession of red-shirt martyrs was unopposed by the police and army. The military's supreme commander called for the dissolution of parliament and new elections. The government continues to resist this plan, despite the knowledge that they can no longer count on the army for support. Strangely the Thai baht has strengthened throughout this crisis. Normally the currency would be expected to plummet with a loss of confidence. This aberration from economic theory points to darker powers behind the turmoil. Chaos has become order. The elite are switching their loyalty. The government will fall by the end of Songkran and the new election will give Thaksin's followers control of the Senate.

Mr. Thaksin will arrive in Thailand in triumph.

His crimes forgiven. His exile forgotten. His fortune restored.

And Isaan will still only have one rice crop per year.

Same Same but Chai-Yo for the puppetmasters behind the scene.

They stayed out of the limelight, but everyone knows who they are.

Khon Yai sa-meu or the elite always wins.
