Gogol Bordello, Through The Roof 'n' Underground / Song of the Day

Vladmar took me to see Pattie Smith.

She was performing an acoustic set at the Bowery Ballroom.

Her audience was 40+. Most of the men were bald and all the women overweight. Most of them were AA. The rest were NA. I was neither.

We waited until she sang GLORIA and then headed over to Webster Hall.

Gogol Bordello was headlining the show. The walls were sweaty. The doors were vibrating and the floors shaking. The audience was young. They sang to every song and the lead singer introduced himself after the show. He was a friend of Vladmar. "Any friend of Vladmar is a friend of mine."

Such is the life of Gypsies.
