Goodbye London

Nearly 10,500 athletes from 204 countries participated in the London Olympics including women athletes from Saudi Arabia. GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney exited from a meeting with the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street and openly questioned whether the British were ready for The Games. London Mayor Boris Johnson proudly defended the preparations and eighteen days later the world will recall the 2012 as a memorable for the opening and closing ceremonies, Bolt's assault on speed, Michael Phelps' farewell triumphs, Somali-born Mo Farah's 10,000m victory, good weather, great hospitality, and the hundreds of races, games, and competitions that occurred under the radar of NBC. In four years Rio will host the 2016 Summer Games. I will be 64. Hope to see you there. Because I'll be someplace else. Free Northern Ireland. Free Palestine. Free the world.
