Outlaw Josie Wales Speaks

I have long been a Clint Eastwood fan and consider THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY one of the greatest films of all time, but I was disappointed to read online that the Oscar-winning director/actor had endorsed the GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Eastwood cited to AP, "I think the country needs a boost." while asserting that he was not "politically affiliated" with the president. Romney swooned at the news and said, "He just made my day." referring to Eastwood's famous line from the 1983 film SUDDEN IMPACT. Eastwood further stated that Romney would restore "a decent tax system that we need badly ... so that there's a fairness and people are not pitted against one another as who's paying taxes and who isn't." Romney still has yet to release his tax returns, which according to Nevada Senator Harry Reid and a CNN reporter will show that the candidate hadn't paid any taxes from 2000 to 2009. Romney reputed this claim by stating during a campaign stop in Las Vegas, "Let me also say categorically: I have paid taxes every year. A lot of taxes. A lot of taxes." God bless you, Josie Wales. The ex-governor's 2010 return revealed that Romney paid 13.9% on his capital gains, which is well below the top rate, and he promised that if elected, "I will not raise taxes on the American people." And if anyone knows how to not raisse taxes, it will be someone who doesn't pay any.
