2000 Plus

On June 13 the Pentagon announced that the death of a US Marine has brought the death total of Americans in Afghanistan to 2000. None of the major news shows mentioned this milestone in the war that will not end. The right were quick to attack the mainstream media's failure to report this news, but neither had Fox News. This war has been forgotten by the American public, who simply want it to go away without any fuss. Meanwhile the Pentagon remains true to its mission and promises to stay the course. It's an investment, not a gamble. As for the other side Operation Enduring Freedom has cost Afghani civilians tens of thousands of lies. How many to be exact? No one really knows, since the Pentagon decided early in the game not to take body counts to avoid any mirroring of the Vietnam debacle. The answer is easy. Too many. Of them and of us. Bring the troops home.
