We're # 16

Gas is at a record high. Home foreclosures too. We're at war in Iraq and Iran. Bad news headlines every newspaper, but the USA is #16 in the global happiness survey according to the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science. Their benchmarks are based on positive changes in democracy, economy, and society. After nearly eight years under GW Bush I'm surprised that America retains its 2000, considering the Pew Institute revealed that 81% of the nation's citizens considered the country heading in the wrong direction.

So what do we have to be happy about?

The Martians haven't invaded Detroit and hot dogs still taste good on the grill.

Sometimes it's the small thing that make us happy like not having to wait in gas lines because of the 'oil crisis'.

The USA may never be as happy as #1 Denmark, however we'll never get as low as Moldova, Armenia and Zimbabwe, the bottom three of the survey. Not unless GW Bush serves a 4th term in office. So relax and be happy, my fellow Americans.

We're # 16.

If GW Bush was arrested I'm sure we'd up into the single digits in happiness.
